#ENDSARS: NDDC office vandalised, cars burnt

Concerns that protest has been hijacked

The Edo State Office of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Benin City was on Monday morning vandalised by protesters.

At least one van, a Toyota Hilux, was set ablaze while windows and other parts of the three-storey building were smashed.

A soundproof power plant at the premises was also set afire by the protesters.

The attack occurred on the wing of the break-in into the state correctional centre at Sapele Road, near the Federal Court of Appeal.

These incidents have raised spectre of concerns that the protests have been infilitrated by criminal elements, whose intentions are different from those of the conveners.
