An inmate of the Benin Correctional Centre who was freed by #ENDSARS protesters has recounted his ordeal in the hands of Police.
The unnamed detainee said he was arrested for an unnamed crime and detained for two years without trial.
He said, “They detained me, unlawful detention. I gave the IPO (Investigating Police Office) money to to go see my friend and investigate it. But he ate the money, his name is Inspector Dele.
“My case was not investigated. I was remanded in prison for two years awaiting trial. God will judge him,” he said.
